Boyfriend: "I wonder if there's a hot fruit dessert..."

Me: "Do you mean compote?"

*laughter ensues*

Boyfriend: "Yes."

Me: "Wow. I'm never going to say 'Do you mean compote?' again in my whole life. I just never thought it'd be necessary! This is the only chance I'll ever get."

Boyfriend: "Is it pronounced compote or compoteh?"

*looks up online*
